CHAMBER MUSIC FEDERATION

PROMOTION OF CONCERTS THIS YEAR (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 16. The New Zealand Federation of Chamber Music Societies, which has a membership of 5000. will bring to New Zealand during the coming season the Lasalle quartet from the United States, the Robert Masters piano quartet from Britain, and the French Pascall quartet. The Pascall quartet will visit New Zealand after visiting Australia, and will give seven concerts—one in each of the four main centres, Hamilton. Rotorua, and Lower Hutt. The federation plans to bring the New Art wind quartet from New York during the 1957 season and <lso the Parrenin quartet, of Paris. The visit of the New Art wind quartet will be financed partly by the American National Theatre and Academy, which has been endowed by the United States Congress to promote art and culture all over the world.
