Members of the Sydenham Pensioners* Friendly Club attended a devotional service in the Sydenham Methodist Church conducted by Paster Whiting. Solos were sung by Pastor Whiting and Mr and Mrs Benton. The organist was Mr Alan A. Swaby.
There will be some simply amazing bargains today, specially for Friday shoppers, at the outstanding Summer Fashion Sale at Anthony Andersen, Ltd., 81 Cashel street. Many frocks which have not been on display previously, novelty tie silks, jersey silks, sheers, shantungs and polished cottons, will be .selling at only 29/6 and 39/6; smart sun frocks and boleros by Peggy Page, of London, will be at the finally reduced price of 39/6; and there will be some wonderful bargains in coats. A complete rack of coats, in attractive novelty tweeds, dingol wool (a popular new coating), wool georgettes (fully lined), and many others —a great many of them suitable for wearing practically all the year round—will be available at genuinely half their normal price.
