Country Fires

A recommendation that farmers should keep fire-fighting equipment handy on their properties was made by the provincial executive of North Canterbury Federated Farmers. “We in Amuri are desperately concerned at the fire risk,” said Mr H. K. Robinson. “All farmeds should have some sort of fire-fighting eqquipment and in the event of a fire be able to grab it and be off in two minutes. As it is, a lot of them only start thinking about eqlipment when a fire starts, and by the time they have got it the fire is out of hand.”
