SOUTH AFRICAN METHODS

RUGBY FOOTBALL

PRAISE BY FORMER N.Z. PLAYER (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 26. A former Auckland and New Zealand Universities Rugby player, Bob Walls, says administrators here must things along before the touring Springboks arrive. Walls played and studied in both South Africa and England when he was on an overseas business trip. He said that he learned more in two months playing in South Africa than in the 14 years ne played here. Walls said that year after year New Zealand teams used the same tactics, and the only time they learned anything was when an international match was in progress. He praised the systematic approach to the game which is shown by the Springbok administrators, and said that Dame Craven, the Springbok manager, was the “chess player of Rugby.” Walls thinks the Springboks have the right approach to the game: he said they “think and live" Rugby, and are constantly seeking to improve their game.
