SENTENCE OF MONTH’S IMPRISONMENT (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 24. David George Keenan, aged 19, a workman, who was- discharged from the Auckland Prison on January 12, and was found without lawful excuse in the enclosed area of the prison at 7 p.m. on January 16, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment by Mr F. McCarthy, S.M., today. Keenan pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant G. F. Fraser said it appeared Keenan was in the area for some ulterior motive. A further charge of committing rape on a young woman on January 13 was preferred against Keenan before he left the dock. On this, he was remanded to appear again on Thursday.
