WOMEN’S HURDLES RECORD

MISS M. STUART’S GOOD TIME (New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, January 23. The New Zealand women’s 80-metres hurdles champion, Miss Margaret Stuart, of Hawke’s Bay, established a new national record at a floodlight athletic meeting in Hastings, this evening. She heat the Australian record holder. Miss Gwen Wallace, and Miss Gloria Cooke, the New South Wales champion. Miss Stuart’s time, 11.4 sec, was l-10sec faster than the existing record, which in heats was equalled by Miss Stuart and Miss Walker.

Miss Stuart also beat Miss Cooke by Ift in the 100-yards sprint, in 11.2 sec.
