Prices Steady On Stock Exchange
Most shares sold on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday changed hands at unchanged prices. Turnover was light, but there were strong buyers in most sections. Bank of N.S.W. (Sydney register) recovered the 10s lost during last week’s trading. Booth, Macdonald, sold last week for Is 6d, improved on quotation to Is 9d. Providing an echo of the recent takeover bid controversy in Australia, Waltons lost lOd in their first local business this year.
