The Director-General of Agriculture (Mr E. J. Fawcett) and Mrs Fawcett returned to Auckland in the Ruahine yesterday after four months’ absence from New Zealand. Mr Fawcett visited Britain, the United States, Russia, and Italy. Mr and Mrs Fawcett will leave Auckland for Wellington by car tomorrow.—(P.A.)

MrR. G. Quentin-Baxter, a New Zealand delegate to the United Nations, returned to Auckland by air yesterday. During his three-month term at the United Nations headquarters. New York, he was associated with the Social Committee of the General Assembly. He left for Wellington by the Limited express last evening. —(P.A.)
