Wellington, tor the 27 hours after the time of issue,' Situation:— A weakening cold front is moving north-eastwards over the North Island, and a ridge of high pressure is spreading on to southern New Zealand from the Tasman Sea. Forecast:— Canterbury and Marlborough.— Moderate southerly winds, with a few more showers possible at first, but weather clearing during the morning, and moderate north-easterly winds developing on the coast during the - afternoon; day temperatures moderate. Nelson and West Coast.—Light to moderate winds, mainly from an easterly quarter; fair weather; mild day temperatures. Outlook.—Fair weather. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch was •unny and warm yesterday morning, but later the wind changed from north-west to south-west, and light showers fell. At midnight, the sky was overcast, and there was no wind. The temperature was 57.7 degrees. The barometer, at 29.82 inches (1009.8 millibars), was rising.
