TAURANGA CUP CONTEST
WIN FOR R. DENNISTON
(New Zealand Press Association) WHANGAREI, January 22. R. Denniston, the 14-year-old winner of the Tanner Cup, won the Tauranga Cup yachting contest on the Whangarei harbour at the week-end.
Denniston, representing the Tauranga Club in Twinkle, easily beat the Kohimarama representative, R. Beatson, in Upset. Final points in the Taranga Cup were:— Tauranga, ,R. Denniston, Twinkle, 416.67; Kohimarama, R. Beatson, Upset, 335.24: Ponsonby, D. Barn, Rising Fast, 180.09; Charteris Bay, B. Abernethy, Panda, 178.56; Hamilton, M. "Wilcox, lona, 161.51; Stewart’s GuMy, M. Tyson, Olympic, 138.71. The last two races resulted:—
Fourth Race.—Kohimarama 1, Tauranga 2, Charteris Bay 3, Stewart’s Gully 4. Fifth Race.—Tauranga 1, Ponsonby 2, Stewart’s Gully 3, Hamilton 4.
