£250,000 WHARF AT WHANGAREI

WHANGAREI, January 20. pie Whangarei Harbour Board is to call tenders next month for its new £250,000 wharf. The board made this decision today after It had inspected Plans submitted by the engineer (Mr D. S. Kennedy). The engineer said that the plans would be completed and checked by early February. He suggested that May 7, would be the closing date for the tenders. Supplies of steel and hardwood for the piles were due at the end of this month.

Mr Kennedy said that the completion date was set down as 21 months from . e beginning of the contract. The calling of tenders will be advertised in New Zealand and Australia.
