MASEFIELD SHIELD
MALVERN BEATS BANKS PENINSULA
In a slow-scoring game Malvern beat Banks Peninsula at Le Bon’s Bayon Saturday to win the Masefield Memorial Shield, contested by the Malvern, Ellesmere, and Banks Peninsula subassociations.
P. Prendergast bowled well for Banks Peninsula, and was well supported by R. Allan. For Malvern, D. Gunn and A. Wright bowled steadily. All the bowlers tended to bowl wide of the off stump. Fourteen batsmen wer.e caught. Scores:—
