£12,000 Fur Coat On Sale At £2000
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. January 4. The bargain of the January sales in London is a fur coat which has been reduced in price by £lO.OOO, according to the “Daily Express.” The newspaper states today that the coat is a rare full-length natural Russian sable and there are only two other coats like it in the world. When it was made eight years ago no-one would pay the £12.000 asked for it. Since then it has come down a little each year at sale time. But now, in 1956, with the price tag at £2OOO it still cannot get a buyer. “No girl with that kind of money will buy sable when mink is the fashion,” the newspaper states.
