DAY OF FINING DRAWING TO A CLOSE (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 5. “The day of fining for these cases is rapidly drawing' to a close. People will never be warned,” said Mr J. S. Hanna, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court today, when he sent a man to prison for seven days and cancelled his licence for a year, for driving a truck while under the influence of liquor. The accused was Arthur John Delahunty, aged 53, a plasterer, who pleaded not guilty.
