FIRE IN PATEKE

SEAMEN PRESS FOR INQUIRY

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 4. A telegram protesting at “the Government’s refusal to hold a public inquiry into the cause of the fire which completely destroyed the accommodation of the motor-vessel Pateke” has been sent to the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) by the president of the Federated Seamen’s Union of New Zealand (Mr F. P. Walsh);

The fire occurred on the Pateke at Lyttelton late in November.
