P. THOMSON’S RECORD SCORE IN TOURNEY

Thirty-nine birdies in 72 holes established for Peter Thomson an Australian record of 262 for four rounds in an invitation tournament at Patterson River yesterday. Thomson won the tournament by nine strokes from Ossie Pickworth (271) and Norman von Nida (284). Thomson’s last round of 63 broke the Patterson River course record of 64 set by him in the first round. , GOLF CHRISTCHURCH GOLF CLUB RANDOLH CUP SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17 Stroke handicap open to members of Canterbury clubs.
