CENTRAL MISSION APPEAL

, Sir, —May I once again appeal to citizens for help to brighten the lives of those less fortunate than most of us this Christmas time. The Christchurch Central Mission workers will be visiting the lonely and shut in folks with gifts. Christmas parties for the aged living in rooms have already been held. The folk in our Eventide Homes will also be remembered and families where the breadwinner is sick or in prison will not be overlooked. This work of love and cheer is carried on 365 days of the year, but at Christmas time we like to be more generous toward those for whom life is difficult and even grim. Through the mission’s efforts you can help the sad and lonely, this Christmas time and bring happiness to the old and tired —the aged and dependent. Will you please help us to help others? Donations that would be welcome include cash, .cheques or postal notes for the purchase of gifts, or fruits, cakes, sweets, puddings, toys—in fact, gifts of any kind. Gifts may be left at the mission headquarters, 209 Cambridge terrace, or posted to me, care of P.O. Box 1449, Christchurch. “Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of the least of these, ye did it unto Me.”—Yours, etc.; WILFRED E. FALKINGHAM, Superintendent, Christchurch Central Mission. December 9, 1955.
