EARL OF HOME TO VISIT N.Z.

COMMONWEALTH TOUR BEGINS (New Zealand Press Association) LONDON, August 30. The Earl of Home, Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations, left London by air to-night for New York on his way to New Zealand to begin an extensive Commonwealth tour. At the airport, he said he would spend a fortnight in New Zealand, a month in Australia and about a week each in Ceylon, India, and Pakistan. He said: “I have not any particular mission, but my object is to meet the Prime Ministers of all countries concerned and* make the acquaintances of leading personalities.” The Earl of Home said he particularly hoped to see a good deal of agricultural and industrial developments in New Zealand and Australia. He will visit the Snowy River power scheme and the WoOmera rocket range. He is expected to return to Britain early in November.
