ACID FUMES CAUSE ALARM AT RAILWAY YARDS
Fumes rising from glass jars of acid in a railway waggon at the Waltham yards yesterday morning alarmed railway employees, who called the Christchurch Fire Brigade. Each of the jars, weighing about a hundredweight, was lifted out by a crane and doused with water to dilute to acid.
