N.Z. TEAM LEAVES FOR BRITAIN
(New Zealand Press Association) _ AUCKLAND, August 31. The New Zealand Rugby League team left Whenuapai tonight on the first stage of the third post-war tour of Britain and France. Today was spent by the team in final preparations for the journey. Photographs were taken, and the members were entertained at afternoon tea 1 by a department store which has been associated with the League since 1912. The team is due in London on Sunday morning, New Zealand time. The tourists will be the first team from New Zealand to fly over the North Pole. They will make the quickest journey made to England by a New Zealand team. -They will spend a day in Honolulu and a few hours in Vancouver, Greenland, and Amsterdam before arriving at Manchester. The team looks particularly fit, except for the full-back, Roy Moore, and the half-back. Sei Belsham, who are still troubled by shoulder injuries. Moore, who broke a collarbone in the second test against France, will not be fit to play until about September 17. Belsham, who has a cracked collarbone t will probably miss only the opening game on September 10.
