! SUPERINTENDENT’S POST CREATED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 30. The Hutt Valley police will in • future be headed by a superintendent, ’ instead of an inspector. The Deputy-Controller-General of : Police (Mr P. J. Nalder) announced today that the first superintendent ’ would be Mr M. E. Lines, who is [ at present in charge of the Dunedin : district. Mr Nalder said that the Hutt Valley i had expanded very rapidly in recent L years, and it was felt that the popu- ’ lation was now so large there • should be a superintendent in charge , of the area.
