BENEFIT MATCH FOR M. BLACKBURN

The Canterbury Football Association Charity Cup match, between Western and Technical Old Boys, on September 24, al English, Park, will be a benefit game lor M. Blackburn, a former player for Technical Old Boys, who was seriously injured iq a game early this season. Early jn May, Blackbum was Injured /while trying to defend his goal against a forward rush. He was on the seriously ill list in Christchurch Public Hospital for some weekx and, although now discharged, is badly paijlysed down one side and may be unable to begin work again for two years. Donations k'ave already been received by the association, the latest being a cheque for £JS from the Thistle Football Club. All clutx are being asked to sup port the benefit match. K. Stevens, auNotnads player who was ordered off the leld in a game on Saturday, has been suspended pending his appearance before tie judicial committee of the Canterbury Bootball Association, the association announced last night.
