CANTERBURY AMATEUR TITLE The quarter-finals of the Canterbury amateur snooker championship were played last evening. The best break of 56, was made by R. Franks. Results were:— Choat (W.M.C.) 58, 45, beat O’Rawe (W.M.C.) 20, 40, by 2 games to nil; Yesberg (R.) 53, 55, beat Cormack (T.) 12, 25, by 2 games to nil: Franks (R.S.A.) 48, 54, 101, beat Watson (W.M.C.) 59, 31. 16, by 2 games to 1; Remi (T.) 31, 55, 66, beat Southerland XW.M.C.) 59, 12, 38, by 2 games to 1. The semi-finals will be played tomorrow between Franks and Yesberg and Choat and Remi.
