Britain’s biggest football pools firm of Littlewoods, which issued today its first statement of accounts after 32 years’ operations, announced punters' stakes of £15,315 933 in seven months to July 31. the “Daily Express” said Littlewoods is the first firm to com-: ply with provisions of the Pool Betting 1 Act, requiring, from the beginning of 1955, the publication of an annual statement of accounts. The ‘‘Daily Express,” analysing the! figures, said that the prizes amounted to £7,688.115. tax to £4,594,780, andl management expenses amounted ‘o about £2.600.000 of the £3 033.U38 which entered under the heading of management and commission The commission was said to* be “less than 3 per cent.” of the total stakes
