44 Poisoned By Milk Powder
(Rec. 11 p.m.) TOKYO. August 29. This morning 44 babies were reported to have died after being fed poisoned milk powder. The manufacturing company said that arsenic had been found in some shipments, and they were looking for the source. The police interrogated two company officials, and newspapers said arrests were expected. The number of sick babies is variously reported from 4000 to 6000.
