The present radium department will be extended into the courtyard on the south side, and will take up almost all the present courtyard space. The building, when alterations are completed, will cover about 2500 square feet. It will contain the cobalt 60 room, the planning and moulding room, the medical officers’ room, and a waiting room, as well as other services. The building will be of reinforced concrete, timber, and brick, and there will be some novel features, One of the walls will be 3ft 6in thick, and there will be heavy lead protection on the doors. Dr. A. M. Goldstein, assistant radiotherapist at the hospital, will leave in October for Canada and Britain, where he will study the latest devolpments in X-ray therapy.
