ACROSS AFRICA BY HELICOPTER
(Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK. Aug. 15. A medical expedition by helicopter through Central Africa, concentration area for some of the world’s most serious diseases, will start from Leopoldville. in the Belgian Congo, on August 25, it was announced today. The expedition, jointly sponsored by the Sikorsky Aircraft Company and Lederle Laboratories, will undertake tbe first cro&sing of Central Africa by helicopter. It will carry out medical surveys in the Belgian Congo, Ruanda-Urundi, Kenya and Tanganyika, acting in coperation with Christian missions in the area. Terminus of the expedition will be Nairobi, which the expedition will reach in lata September after stops at some 30 Protestant and Roman Catholic missions.
