Records Of Geneva Conference
LONDON, August 15. Britain did not favour publication of the records of the recent Geneva summit conference, a British Foreign Office spokesman said today. The spokesman said that the United States was consulting Britain on the possibility of publishing the conference records. According to Loudon diplomatic quarters the British view is that publication would prejudice freedom of discussion at the conference of the Big Four Foreign Ministers which will open in Geneva on October 27. Proceedings at the morning sessions of the four Foreign Ministers during the summit conference were kept secret by a Four-Power agreement. The British Government’s policy is to withhold publication of the records of such conferences during the lifetime of the major participants.
