CANCELLATION OF SOME GAMES A number of games which were set down for play on Saturday next were cancelled at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Football Association last evening, because of a shortage of grounds. Junior matches will be played at 1 p.m. to allow players to attend the India v. Canterbury hockey match at English Park. Permission was received from the Christchurch City Council to take a collection among spectators at the Junior National Cup final between Otago and Canterbury, at Elmwood Park on Saturday. Mr L. Gray, of Christchurch, has been appointed by the New Zealand Referees’ Association for the junior National Cup final, and Mr D. Bruce, of Timaru. has been appointed for the South Island Chatham Cup fi.nal between Western (Christchurch) and Roslyn-Wakari (Dunedin), at Dunedin on Saturday.
