ST. CHAD’S PARISH BALL

The parish ball of St. Chad’s Church, North Linwood, was held recently. The proceeds will be given to the church building fund. The guests of honour included the Ven. Archdeacon W. W. Averill and Mrs Averill, and the vicar (the Rev. C. W. Kent-Johnston) and Mrs KentJohnston. Mr F. Sanger was master of ceremonies. and music was supplied by Mrs Timms’s orchestra. Exhibition dances were given by Mr and Mrs Frank Wilson. The hall was decorated with scarlet poinsettias, white bracken and holly, the ceiling being festooned with Japanese sunshades filled with balloons. The supper tables were decorated with driftwood arrangements.
