OVERDUE TRAMPERS RETURN

'New Zealand Prefix Association) MASTERTON. July 12. Overdue on a tramp in the Tararua Ranges during the week-end, two Wellington men. Messrs Leigh Hart and Barry Kaywood. arrived in Masterton last night after arrangements had been made by the search and rescue organisation to send out search parties. The men. who were fit and well, abandoned an attempt to travel along the mountain tops from Mount Holdsworth to Mitre Peak, and descended into the headwater of the Mangaterere river. They were delayed by Mr Hart spraining an ankle.
