Birth Control to Cut Costs.-—A Japanese shipbuilding firm is planning to cut production costs—by encouraging birth control among its workers. The Hitachi Shipbuilding Company, which pays out £60,000 a year in family allowances, believes birth control will cut the wages bill by £lo,ooo.—Tokyo, July 10.
