MRS FOSTER’S RETURN TO ENGLAND
MORE THAN £450 GIVEN FOR EXPENSES (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 12. More than £450 has been given by wellwishers throughout New Zealand towards the expenses and return fare to England of Mrs Alice Foster, mother of the executed murderer, Frederick Foster. Mrs Foster will leave Auckland tomorrow morning on the first stage of her flight back to England. The biggest sum collected for her was £ll5 given by workers at Kawerau. A “completely unexpected” contribution of £5O came from Wellington. It is not known who was responsible for the last collection. The money was remitted through a firm of solicitors. Donations are still being received. Any money given after Mrs Foster leaves tomorrow will be remitted to her by Dr. A. M. Finlay, counsel for her son at his trial and appeal.
