SHELL AWARD IN AGRICULTURE

STUDENT AT LINCOLN CHOSEN

The second Shell Agricultural Scholarship for 1955 has been awarded to Mr G. N. Neutze, of Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln. Mr Neutze is at present in his final year for his degree of bachelor of agricultural science. He was brought up on a mixed cropping and fat lamb farm near Geraldine. South Canterbury. and his secondary school years

were spent at the Geraldine District High School. After a year on the farm he took his agricultural intermediate examination at Otago University in 1952. For the next two years he will study for his master’s degree in farm mana/*ement, and he plans a thesis on pumice land development. Active in student affairs, Mr Neutze was editor of “Caclin,” the student newspaper, and secretary of the Students’ Association at Lincoln. His sporting interests are Rugby and cricket, and he was a member of the college second fifteen and first eleven.
