“Ready Every Hour Of Every Day” (Rec. 10 p.m.) DENVER. July 11. The United States Air Force Academy was dedicated today with a pledge by the Secretary for Air, Mr Harold Talbott, that the Air Force was ready “every hour of every day to destroy its enemies should they take the part of aggression.’’ But he expressed the hope that its power need never be unleashed, saying: “Indeed, it seems reasonable *o hope that no nation will ever be so suicidal as to invoke it.’’ Mr Talbott told the 306 cadets enrolled today at the Lowry Air Force base: “We not only want peace, we mean to have it. We want no yard of ground, no dollar of treasure from any country on the face of the earth. But I say to all Americans—and to whom else it may concern—that the United States Air Force is ready at this minute, this hour, this day, and every hour of every day to destroy its enemies should they take the part of aggression. “We hope, as do all Americans, that our counter-attack will never be needed. ...”
