“COLOURFUL” HOTELS

Sir,—l am gathering material (before a country-wide trip) for a book on New Zealand's most colourful hotels, and would be glad to hear from any of your readers who can offer information on such hotels. I am particularly interested in the Clarendon, at Christchurch, the Canterbury and Mitre Hotels at Lyttelton, the Bruce at Akaroa. the Ellesmere Arms, at Tai Tapu, and the Hurunui, North Canterbury; also in the old Golden Fleece at Christchurch, the former Pigeon Bay Hotel, Little River, and the present Glacier Hotel at Bealey, near Arthur’s Pass.—yours, etc., JAMES McNEISH. Box 32, Auckland.
