WANDERING HORSES
Sir, —You report the shooting of a horse after a collision with a car in Richmond. It has amazed me that some person or persons have not met with a serious accident in this area before now. It is a common occurrence to find horses roaming the streets in the Richmond-Shirley area. This is not hard to understand when you see how poorly some of the paddocks are fenced, and I would take this Opportunity to ask the owners of the animals concerned to take immediate action. I would further suggest that a tour by S.P.C.A. officials, and a police patrol car or traffic patrol car near the Shirley Intermediate School might have beneficial results.—Yours, etc., SAFETY FIRST. July 12, 1955.
