FOREIGN LEGION DESERTERS

(Rec. 9 p.m.) PORT SAID. July 11. Seventy-six French Foreign Legionnaires. 40 of them Germans, deserted by jumping into the Suez Canal on Sunday. They were on the way from IndoChina to North Africa. Already more than 200 other French Foreign Legionnaires had leaped into the canal from troopships in recent months.
