REMITS FOR ANNUAL CONFERENCE
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 11. A request that the Government should take responsibility for housing ® rural areas all its employees and also teachers is contained in an Auckland remit which will be considered by the Dominion conference of Federated Farmers. The conference will open at Wellington on Wednesday, and will continue for three days. Other remits range over economics and politics. One calls for a reduction in the profits charged on imported tractors, and urges the Government to remove “the unjustified duty that has been reimposed on American tractors.” Waikato, Taraand Auckland are associated with remits that press for a reduction m c tn duties. Several provinces request the opportunity for farmers to pay income r* on the system whereby the prooyctive herd or flock is treated as Q Pital stock. South Canterbury wants the State Advances Corporation to make more “Oeral finance available to young far/ers for the purchase of farms.
