SKI INSTRUCTORS’ COURSE
FIRST OF KIND IN NEW ZEALAND A training course for ski instructors the first of its kind in New Zealand' has been in progress on the Coronal Peak ski fields, near Queenstown, for the last week., The primary objects of the course attended by 15 instructors from most ski-ing districts in the South Island are to unify teaching techniques and standardise instructional methods The training, under Mr Don Me Donald, director of the Coronet Peak ski school, includes a rigorous nro gramme on teaching techniques and methods, and field application of tech niques and methods. In the even ing lectures have been held on im portant subjects related to ski-ins ' The course will conclude with oral and written examinations in' all aspects of ski-ing and practical exam;, matrons in teaching. The course, which is expected to prove of great value in the development of New Zealand ski-ing bv providing- fully competent instructors has been made possible by the effort, of Mr McDonald and the permission of the Mount Cook and Southe?s Lakes Tourist Company.
