Stay Of Execution For Convict

(Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 6. The Supreme Court today granted a stay of execution to Caryl Chessman, who was scheduled to be executed on July 15 in the San Quentin Goal for attempted rape. A Court spokesman, announcing the decision, said the stay would renrain ih effect until the Court had an opportunity to act on Chessman’s petition for a review of his case.
