There have been ur withdrawals from the North Island team to play South Island in the annual university match at Carisbrook. Dunedin, on July 13. They are R A. Jrrden and I. E. Stuart (Victoria). and J M. Tanner and B. J. Fitzpatrick (Auckland) Thev will be replaced by N. Uluiviti. C. J. Osborn. N. J. Brown (all Auckland), and B. D. Cashmore (Massey). The scrum will be rearranged, wit R. J Carroll going from the front ro' to a lock position, and Cashmore playinin Carroll's place in the front row. The reserves will be M. A. C. Wats(Victoria). E. J. Jones (Massev), G. Blath wa’-t (Victoria), and J. Graham (Auck land). The New Zealand University Rueb Football Council announced today thH. L. M Smith (Auckland) would can tr the North Island team, with W. F Clark (Victoria) as vice-captain. S. G. Bremner (Canterbury) would lead the South Island team, with D. E. Caughey (Otago) vice-captain. Jarden said that he would be available if required for the New Zealand University team to play Otago on July 16.

By noon today fewer than 500 seats were unsold in the grandstand at Athletic Park for the inter-island Rugfcy match on July 23. The stand holds about 4000. Today was the first day for oubiic booking. ASSOCIATION CODE CHINESE TEAM AT AUCKLAND CARLAW PARK DRYING WELL (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 7. After a sight-seeing trip from Wanganui, during which they visited the Geyser Valley at Wairakei, attended a Maori concert at Rotorua, and visited the glowworm cave at Waitomo, the Chinese Association footballers arrived at Auckland tonight to play the third test with New Zealand on Saturday. All were reported fit and well. The team will train tomorrow. The New Zealand team, which assembled this morning, trained this afternoon under its coach (Mr R. A. Speed). Carlaw Park, the Rugby League ground which is to be used for the test, is drying well in the sunshine, and is expected to be firm and fast on Saturday.
