DISAPPEARING GARDEN HOSE.—Miss Suzanne di Peso, of Downey, California, with the plastic hose which has been mysteriously drawn into the ground at her home. The hose broke when her father hitched the loose end to his car and attempted to pull it out. About 20 feet of the hose disappeared into the ground at the rate of about two inches an hour.
