TWO AIRLINERS GROUNDED
DELAY IN RECEIPT OF SPARE PARTS
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Julv 7 N £ tiona l Airwa vs Corporation airliners have been grounded because certain spare parts have not arrived in New Zealand.
Although the essential replacements were ordered some months ago they have not been received, possibly because of the abnormal shipping and transport position in Britain,” said a spokesman for the - corporation today, it will consequently be necessary to fly out the parts, and this will result in the two aircraft remaining out of service for up to 10 days. “The consequent realignment of services on the Cook Strait route will involve a number of passengers transferring their flights, though travel will be available on the same day. “Where necessary. Douglas airliners will operate special flights through Paraparaumu airport, thereby ensuring the delivery on time of newspapers air mail and urgent freight. “The Nelson, Rongotai. Napier. Rotorua, and Hamilton Heron service will not be affected,” said the spokesman.
