Sparrow Food
An elderly Wellington resident with a kind heart stepped into a large store to buy some wheat to feed the starving birds. He asked for “four pounds of wheat to feed the sparrows.” “The sparrows?” said the lady assistant, “you mean the fowls.” “No, I mean the sparrows,” said the man. Back came the reply: “Disgraceful! Thousands of people in India are starving, and you feeding the sparrows.”
