ENGLAND TO N.Z. BY CAR
JOURNEY BY TIMARU WOMAN TIMARU, June 29. In company with two other New Zealanders, Miss Pearl H. Savin, a Timaru physiotherapist, who is at present in London, is planning to return to New Zealand and do most of the journey by car through Europe and the Near East.
In response to a request from Miss Sirvin the Mayor of Timaru (Mr R. E. White) is to send her a letter of introduction. In a letter to the Mayor, Miss Savin said that an introduction from him on the most impressive letterhead that can be provided could work wonders in Central Europe. Her itinerary will take the party through France, Austria, Jugoslavia, Greece, Turkey. Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, and then by sea to Ceylon and Australia.
Miss Savin expects to complete her 12,000-mile journey home by Christmas.
