Rousing Ovation For Truman

(Rec. 10 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, June 25. Mr Harry Truman was given a great ovation when he spoke before the United Nations commemorative session last night. Some observers said he received louder and more sustained applause than President Eisenhower, who made the opening speech last Monday. Present to hear Mr Truman were Mr Dulles, the United States Secretary of State, and Mr Molotov, the Soviet Foreign Minister. Mr Molotov stood and applauded with the remainder of the audience of about 3000 in the Opera House as Mr Truman was introduced and at the end of the former Prelident’s address. The Soviet Union had objected to the invitation to Mr Truman to speak on the ground that he is a private citizen and because he had been responsible, as President, for anti-Soviet policies.
