RELIEF FOR SOUTH VIETNAMESE

PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION LIST OPENED For “Operation Brotherhood.” a plan of assistance for refugees and distressed persons in South Vietnam, the Canterbury Junior Chamber of Commerce has undertaken to raise not less than £lOO. A public subscription list has been opened at the offices of the chamber in Christchurch.

“Operation Brotherhood” was sponsored by Junior Chamber International to provide funds for medical supplies for the Filipino workers engaged in the project in South Vietnam. Mr J. H. Hogan, of Wellington, a member of the national executive of the junior chamber, told the regional conference of Junior Chambers at Hanmer Springs that the national directors of the chamber had decided to make the project New Zealand-wide. The president of the Canterbury junior chamber (Mr B. J. Drake) had already appealed to members for funds.
