SYDNEY, June 20. The last series' of Sydney’s 1954-55 wool sales began today. Compared with Newcastle’s closing rates last week, good style Merino fleece wools remained firm, and all other Merinos descriptions, comebacks and crossbreds were fully firm, any change being in the sellers’ favour. There was strong, sustained compel:-; tion from Britain, the Continent and; Japan, with some support from local; buyers. Crossbred prices included:; 80id for good average 60’s, and 73jd ( for good average 58’1.
