ZOO KANGAROO REJECTS BABY

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BALTIMORE, June 15. A kangaroo, the first to give birth to a joey in the Baltimore Zoo, had spurned her offspring, Mr Arthur Watson, director of the zoo, said today. He said the rejection appealed to be because the joey limped and could not get back into 4he pouch of its own accord. The joey had been taken to the home of an animal lover and was being fed with an eye-dropper Dr. Robert Wagers, a veterinarian, said a tendon had slipped out of place in the joey’s left hind leg. He thought surgery could be avoided, and the tendon could be slipped back into place by means of a cast that had been applied to the leg.
